Program to offer Nashville Flight Training aviation students’ career opportunities

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – July 22, 2016 – Nashville Flight Training has been named the launch partner school for the ExpressJet Airlines Preferred School Program (PSP). The announcement was made during a signing event today. The program will offer Nashville Flight Training aviation students’ career progression opportunities with ExpressJet Airlines, a wholly owned subsidiary of SkyWest, Inc. (NASDAQ: SKYW).

“We are honored to be the launch school for the ExpressJet Airlines Preferred School Program,” said Chris Erlanson, Nashville Flight Training president. “This program is a mutually beneficial opportunity, allowing our school to provide a career path for our flight students while helping fill the pilot pipeline for ExpressJet.”

Through the preferred school agreement students completing flight training at a partner school will receive an early interview at ExpressJet. Upon successful completion of the interview, qualifying students will be offered a conditional offer of employment with ExpressJet. He or she would continue to flight instruct as a Certified Flight Instructor for Nashville Flight Training until they meet the required hours to be hired at ExpressJet. ExpressJet is the only regional airline that offers career pathways to United Airlines and JetBlue Airways.

The ExpressJet Airlines Preferred School Program is also a unique way to address the pilot shortage the aviation industry is already experiencing.
