Pilot Success Story
Kathleen O.
Professional Medevac Pilot
Kathleen (right) started her aviation journey with an accelerated ground school course at the age of 45. It didn’t take long for her to earn all the needed ratings to become a professional pilot. She is now a successful medevac captain.
Kathleen’s story:
In mid-2017 I signed up for the accelerated ground school at Tennessee Flight training. I was 45 years old at that time. Little did I know that this action would change my life forever and make my dream to become a pilot, which I had from when I was 18, come true.
In August 2018 I received my Private Pilot license, but I did not stop there. In just about two years, I received all my ratings (IFR, Commercial, CFI, CFII, MEI) thanks to the amazing guidance from everyone at Tennessee Flight Training. I started to work as a CFII at the school and that only gave me a boost to go further on my journey.
In 2021 I started flying private jet airplanes, and in 2022 (just five years after I started from 0 to pilot!), I started flying private jets (CE525, CE 550 and soon XLS) as a medevac pilot. In 2024 I became Captain on the CJs and 500 series.
I am so grateful for changing my direction in life in 2017 and following my heart. Tennessee Flight Training is a big part of my journey, and I could not have asked for a better school! Because I took all of my flight lessons at Tennessee Flight Training based on the big airport, KBNA, I never had any problem flying into bigger airports. Tennessee Flight Training prepared me well for my job I have now as a medevac pilot. I am forever grateful for the guidance and friendships I receive from Tennessee Flight Training. There is no better school out there!
